Over the weekend I managed to complete stage one of the purple project for the Craft and Quilt Fair in Melbourne this month.

Stage 1
This was knitted using one 50gm ball of Jo Sharp DK yarn and a size 5.5mm circular needle…..there was something in the region of 400 stitches to cast off!
Stage two of this project is spreadout on the kitchen table drying …….

Stage 2
These are scrapmatts daisies that have been given the treatment using a purple Gelly Roll pen and then a coat of Dimensional Magic.
The next step involves beads, sequins and other pretty stuff!!!

hmmm, those scrapmats have me a bit intrigued!! I’m very good at casting off stitches – not so good at keeping them on the needles though Haha

The Scrapmatts chipboard and microchip ranges are an Australian designed and manufactured product made from acid free chipboard (ie cardboard) Scrapbookers, journal makers, paper arts people and card makers familiar with chipboard product are used to getting it raw and its usually a punched product.
Scrapmatts are cut out rather than punched so don’t have the need for edge cleaning and what makes them special is that they can be purchased in a range of colours as well as raw….and as they are designed from scratch, they are unique.
With regard to keeping your stitches on the needles…and especially with the potato chip scarf project…I can’t recommend more highly the use of a circular needle! I had far less trouble with stitches going AWOL using the circular needle for the second one of these I made.
