Following the highly successful “Black in Fashion – From Mourning to Night”, the NGV International gallery in St Kilda Road is now showing “Remaking Fashion” in the Myer Fashions and Textiles Gallery.

This small show is a must for students of fashion and design as it examines the process of garment construction showing samples and  Pierre Cardin toiles from the Lucas fashion house collection that were the basis for many an Australian 60’s era couture garment. It deconstructs garment design and illustrates clearly some of the secrets of fine garment construction.

The video presentation screening on the wall of the space is mesmeric as it is fascinating to see two designers at work “building” a garment using a live model.
